The U.S. Center for Disease Prevention and Control added six new symptoms to the symptoms of the new type of coronavirus disease.
The U.S. Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) previously considered only three symptoms as a symptom of Covid-19. These were reported as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. However, with the increasing number of patients, new findings have started to be obtained in terms of the symptoms of the disease.
The center then updated its recommendations, adding six new symptoms to the symptom list. These were determined as chills, chills that repeated with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste, and smell. Those caught with Covid-19 are expected to show one or more of these symptoms within two to 14 days of infection.
Different symptoms are reported
Apart from the symptoms listed above, different symptoms can also be reported by people who are infected or suspect of the disease. These symptoms include weakness, anorexia, runny nose, and diarrhea.
However, test sites or institutions that have approved the home test kit often question whether patients show the symptoms set in the official list before accepting the test request. While some countries only accept dry cough and high fever-like symptoms, some countries may be more flexible.
During the illness, these symptoms can be very severe or mild. It can be seen that some people survived the disease without any symptoms. However, experts also warn that mild symptoms may have severe consequences.
